... on my mind! In the Peach state (or Empire
State of the South, as it is unofficially known) if
you are looking for Georgia
cabin rentals, not only do we have log
cabin homes, but for those who really like seclusion
and at the same time like to be within shouting distance
of the fineries of life, we have cabin
rentals in Blue Ridge Georgia. And if trout fishing
is your hobby, you will find log cabins for rental where
you can fish for trout for as long as your heart's content!
At the other end of the spectrum, for those that prefer
beach life we have beach
rental homes. If beach resorts are more akin to
your holidaying lifestyle then our Tybee
Island vacation rentals may be just right for you.
Tybee Island is only a short drive to the historic city
of Savannah, Georgia.
Georgia was one of the original 13 states and before
the civil war (or 'the war between states' as it is
preferred to be called in the south) it was a land of
slavery and great cotton plantations. These days it
is better known for its soy-beans, peanuts, pecans and
peaches. Its climate can be described as a humid sub-tropical
climate with cool and wet winters and hot and humid
summers.
Places of interest include Stone Mountain Park (east
of Atlanta) that has a Confederate memorial carved on
the face of the mountain. In Atlanta you will find 'Coca-Coal
World' and the 'Martin Luther King National Historic
Site'. Other places of interest are the Okefenokee Swamp,
Savannah (Georgia's oldest city swamped in in history),
Augusta - which during the Civil War was the state's
capital and in recent times has become more famous for
golf as it is the home of the Masters Golf Tournament.
Historians should visit the Andersonville National Historic
Site - a confederate stockade for Union prisoners during
the Civil War (or should we say 'the war between states'!)
Also see the 'Little White House' in Warm Springs which
was the home of President Franklin D Roosevelt.
