The Villa

The Colonel Cottage is a waterfront cottage with a wraparound deck overlooking Burridge Lake. The property is extremely private from the point of putting your foot on the deck. Watch the wildlife go by or watch the sun dance on the water. A beautiful 2-acre property with hot and cold running water, power, fully furnished and supplied with linen (if requested). Options include a boat, barbecue, tent, and drinking water dispensed from a cooler.

Location

We are situated 3.5 hours north-east of Toronto and only 1.5 hours from Ottawa. A very tranquil setting but only 15 minutes from the great tourist attraction of Westport. Beaches are sandy and an ideal area for boating, fishing, swimming, cycling and walking. Golf is close at hand at several beautiful courses which are extremely reasonable.

Accommodation

The cottage sleeps 4 people comfortably. There are 2 large bedrooms with a high quality double mattress in each.

Facilities

Fully furnished with all kitchen utensils, stove, microwave, new fridge (2004) and electrical appliances. Coin-operated laundry facilities are nearby. Linen and towels are optional. Wood-burning fireplace. Electric heating, ceiling and floor fans. Cable TV and VCR in unit. Swimming in the lake. Boat mooring. Restaurants and boutiques in Westport plus a supermarket, liquor store, beer store and post office in Westport.

Additional Information

Short stays are possible outside of July and August. There is no charge for a babe-in-arms. $250 due upon booking, mostly refundable up to the last 30 days. Balance to be paid four weeks prior to vacation. Pets need special permission and you are requested not to smoke within the cottage.
