The Villa

The villa is located in the heart of the charming seaside village of Liznjan and can accommodate up to eight people. The traditional stone built house has a small landscaped garden incorporating a swimming pool (6.0m x 4.0m) and extensive covered and shaded terraces. With air conditioning and top quality furnishings this spacious holiday home offers the highest standard of comfort.

Location

Liznjan is located at the tip of the Istrian peninsula on the Croatian Adriatic coastline. Liznjan is a charming agricultural and fishing village set on high ground about one kilometre from the coast. The village has three shops providing a wide range of groceries as well as fresh bread and vegetables as well as an excellent butchers. There are three restaurants. The tourist trade is restricted mainly to bed and breakfast and private apartments rental. The neighbouring village of Medulin (less than 2 kilometres distant) has a much more extensive tourist trade with several hotels and a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants. The principal town of the area is Pula some 7 kilometres away. Pula has several modern resort hotels, a historic town centre with a number of Roman monuments, including a well preserved first century amphitheatre (the sixth largest in the world), museums, a busy port and shipyard, extensive shopping and a colourful fruit and vegetable market. Day trips to areas of interest such as the islands of Brioni or to Venice, can be booked through local tourist offices.

Accommodation

The accommodation comprises:

• Ground floor: Hall Kitchen fitted with dishwasher, oven, electric hob and fridge freezer; corner dining area with bench seating; archway leading to Sitting room; double glass doors to covered terrace; Utility room with storage space and second fridge Shower room with WC and washing machine; Second living room (or bedroom 4) with traditional open fireplace and window to garden; settees convert to single or double beds.
• First Floor Double master bedroom, en suite bathroom. Double glass doors to large covered balcony. Twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom Twin bedroom with en-suite shower room.
• Second floor Store room (restricted headroom).

The accommodation is finished to a high standard throughout. Downstairs floors are all marble and first floor bedrooms have parquet floors and tiled bathrooms. Furniture and fittings are all of the highest quality. Heating and air conditioning can be thermostatically controlled room by room.

THE COAST

The coastline is mainly rocky but heavily indented with many sheltered bays, spectacular headlands and, in Medulin bay, many small islands lying close inshore. The water is exceptionally clean and perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Most of the coastline around Liznjan is totally undeveloped and it is possible to find stretches of coastline, accessed by foot or along farm tracks, which will be virtually deserted even in mid summer.
