The Villa

A charming old winemaker's house dated 1870, restored to a high standard. Typical of this elegant period with large rooms, high ceilings and marble fireplaces. It is run as a chambre d'hote but can also be rented as a whole with the proprietor looking after your needs.

Location

The wine-producing village of Pouzols Minervois nestles at the foot of the garrigue amongst the vines in a region rich in history. Carcassonne, with its medieval city is 35 minutes away. The lovely old town of Narbonne, with wonderful food market is 20 minutes. Mediterranean coast with sandy beaches 40 minutes. High Languedoc Natural park 20 minutes. Canal du Midi 5 km.

The area is ideal for walking, cycling, bird watching or just relax and take in the ambience of rural French life. Bike hire available at certain times of year. There are restaurants close by.

Accommodation

4 bedrooms with double beds. 1 bedroom with twin beds. All bedrooms have en-suite bathroom facilities and are furnished with either a settee or comfy armchair if you feel you want some peace and quiet. All rooms have electric radiators. Large lounge with comfy seating. We have a south facing terrace for your use.

Facilities

All bedrooms have electric radiators, fans and heated towel rails and are supplied with personal towels which are changed daily. Bed linen is changed every 3 days. All rooms are cleaned daily. Lounge has TV with English satellite and wood burning stove. Terrace has teak table and chairs, shady area, BBQ available. Bookings can be weekly, part week or weekend.

Additional Information

Prices include breakfast, daily room cleaning, towel and linen changes. Picnic lunches/dinner by arrangement. Travel – by road A9 and A61 are both 20 minutes. By train – Narbonne station 20 minutes. By air – Carcassonne 40 minutes, Perpignan 45 minutes, Montpellier 1 hour 10 minutes, Toulouse 1 hour 30 minutes
