The Villa

This traditional Cretan house is located in the centre of the village of Pigi, 2000 metres from the nearest sandy beach and about 10 km from the town of Rethymnon. The house is a spacious 140 sq m and is suitable for 8 people. It has been carefully and attractively restored very much in keeping with its original character, and has its own unique and simple charm.

Winter holidays are possible because of the walls, which are cool in summer, warm in winter, and the help of air conditioning and two fireplaces.

Location

In the small village of Pigi there are three tavernas, bakery, butcher + bus stop. A large variety of shops, tavernas and tourist amenities can be found in Rethymnon.

Accommodation

From the entrance of the house, one enters the living/kitchen area, with fully equipped kitchen, microwave and washing machine, stone fireplace, satellite TV, stereo with CD, a sofa and sofa bed. There is a telephone for incoming calls, and air conditioning (4 units) is available at an extra local charge. The first floor has one bedroom with double bed, bath/WC and balcony. From the living area a few steps lead up to the second bedroom with twin beds, open fireplace and shower/WC, and stairs lead to a third bedroom with twin beds, a shower/WC and a balcony. In front of the house there is a walled veranda with patio furniture.

Facilities

A 40 sq m swimming pool is situated, together with an traditional barbecue area, kitchenette, and a separate WC, within 350 sq m of private grounds with orange trees, opposite the house and across a little approaching road.
