Additional Information

  • Locally Venice and nearby Sarasota offer many attractions:
  • Beautiful clean beaches most with lifeguards and facilities. Siesta near Sarasota will amaze you with its white sand as fine as ‘sugar’. Nokomis is our favourite, about 15 minutes from the villa.
  • You might prefer South Venice beach with its excellent Sharkies restaurant.
  • Take a walk along the shore near the fishing jetty and you will be sure to discover shark’s teeth – fortunately not connected to the shark!
  • Slightly further south is the quieter Caspersen beach and Lake Venice Golf Club.
  • Within 10 minutes drive of our villa there are four excellent golf courses, Waterford being the best.
  • Fishing, both fresh water and sea water, are available locally. Boats and Jet skis can be hired in Venice and Nokomis.
  • Scuba diving is popular on the Gulf Coast and there is a diving school next to Marker 4 restaurant on Venice Inter-coastal waterway. (We can recommend Marker 4 – their terrace over looking the water way is just right for a relaxing lunch time snack.)
  • Just north of Venice is Sarasota. From its world class performing arts hall to museums and theatres, ballet and opera the Gulf Coast is a treasure-trove of cultural gems. Try the Ringling museum of art and if this is your thing why not also try the Dali Museum in St Petersburg.
