The Laurel
Property code:

The Villa

A Truro vacation home and guest house, our property is located on a secluded, two-acre lot overlooking Cape Cod National Seashore. It is just over a mile to the bay beaches and 2 miles to the ocean.

Location

The Laurel is in one of the most attractive areas in South Truro (The Pamet), convenient to Truro Centre (1 mile), Cape Cod Bay (1.3 miles) and the Atlantic Ocean (2.3 miles). Neighbouring Provincetown and Wellfleet are packed with shops, galleries, museums, and restaurants. There are water sports, all kinds of fishing, whale-watching opportunities, great biking and hiking trails, and the most beautiful beaches on the east coast.

Accommodation

The main house, which has been featured in a national magazine and two books, enjoys views of sunsets, and even a peek of Cape Cod Bay and Provincetown from its rooftop deck. There’s also an informal Guest House just down a short trail from the house. It has a nicely crafted hardwood interior and is available with the main house or separately. It’s perfect for one or two adults, a small family, a nanny or as a "space of our own" for older children.

Facilities

The spacious living/dining room has a soaring 18-foot cathedral ceiling and programmed lighting. Seat eight at the roomy maple dining table or eat informally at the island counter or on the screen porch. Enjoy the quality audio system or watch satellite TV, DVDs or videos (bring your CDs or DVDs.) Off the living room, there's a large screened porch and a stairway to the rooftop deck. The nicely equipped kitchen has solid-surface counters, dishwasher, gas cook top, convection and microwave ovens, coffee-maker, blender, toaster and a generous supply of utensils and dishes. The master bedroom has a queen bed, a walk-in closet and stereo system speakers. The beautifully tiled master bathroom features a whirlpool shower/tub, stereo system speakers and a skylight. There is a generous supply of bath towels. The full-size washer-dryer is convenient but out of earshot at the head of the stairs.

The lower-level suite, with 10-foot ceilings and lots of windows, has a spacious bedroom and a tiled bath that features a clear-glass corner shower and pedestal sink. The suite's queen and twin cot offer flexible sleeping accommodation. Outdoors, there's an enclosed outdoor shower, charcoal and gas grills, a picnic table, and a hammock.

Guest House Amenities

The 600 sq ft Guest House has a living room with stereo and TV/VCR, a dining room with a nice view and maple butcher block dining table for four. The loft bedroom has a closet and queen bed. A full-size sleep sofa in the living room provides additional sleeping. The compact, but family-tested kitchen features tiled floors, brick-red concrete counters, a range, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, blender, plenty of storage, cooking utensils and dishes. The bathroom has tile floors and features a tiled shower, pedestal sink and aromatic cedar walls. Outside there’s an outdoor shower on a private deck, table and chairs and a charcoal grill.
